Another amazing elite athlete has joined Team Ribose! 2010 Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Billy Demong reports that he is already seeing the benefits of adding Bioenergy Ribose to his fitness regimen as he prepares for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. As a Team Ribose member, Billy will also appear in future Bioenergy Ribose ads and at many of our events.
“I was turned on to Ribose through friends who had taken the product, and knew some of the incredible testimonials of other endurance athletes including Greg and Laura Bennett and Olympic Champion Susan Francia,” Billy says. “I started taking the product several weeks ago which is perfect timing as we are in a huge volume base-building phase and recovery from all of the endurance training and strength sessions is critical. I’ve noticed a remarkably shortened turnaround time between finishing long hard sessions and feeling recovered to go again. I have an enhanced ability to work harder day after day with each day starting off feeling fresh and ready. In the past week alone I’ve biked, run and skied over 250 miles with over 40,000 vertical feet of climbing, lifted weights three times for two hours and raced a 75-mile road race and I’ve only had one day off!”
With a career on the snow of more than 15 years, Billy has produced some staggering numbers and memorable moments as America’s best-ever Nordic combined skier. Nordic combined is a rigorous winter sport in which athletes compete in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping.
In addition to his Gold and Silver Medal Performance at the 2010 Olympic Games (where he was elected by his fellow Team USA athletes to be the Flag Bearer at the Closing Ceremony), he is already a four-time Olympian, a 21-time World Cup Medalist (nine of which are gold), a record-setting nine-time U.S. World Team member and an eight-time U.S. National Champion.
An avid cyclist, Billy finished second overall in the High Uinta Classic Stage Race from Kamas, Utah to Evanston, Wyoming.
Watch for Billy to give some exciting reports as a member of Team Ribose. “I’m very excited to utilize the resources of the US Ski Team’s sport science to test and quantify some of the benefits to Bioenergy Ribose for my training and recovery through daily strength and fitness monitoring including isometric push tests, jump power, VO2 max, Lactate Threshold and daily heart rate monitoring,” he says. “I want to use these results to share with other people and athletes the benefits of proper planning and monitoring of training and nutrition.”
